“There are lots of ways of being miserable, but there’s only one way of being comfortable, and that is to stop running round after happiness. If you make up your mind not to be happy there’s no reason why you shouldn’t have a fairly good time.”—Edith Wharton, US novelist (1862 - 1937)
“We go through the present wearing this blindfold, barely feeling or guessing what we’re living. Only later, when the blindfold is removed, we can tell what was going on, understanding the meaning of all that is past.”—Milan Kundera, Laughable Loves
I was thinking about being a gifted people. I don’t believe there is such thing.
I was thinking to myself that there are only people who believe in too much bullshit and are lazy enough to grow up in life, waiting to born again on another incarnation with the holy gift from heaven.
Maybe, just maybe, we create our own gifts through a sum of oportunity and/or curiosity, a mental strategy with our values, rules and believes that in consequence will give birth to our thoughts and, furthermore, our habits.
Maybe all that, adding to our passion and practice create a gift.
